Kenneth Roberts – The Unofficial Site

Alfred North Whitehead once stated that all of Western philosophy is a footnote to Plato. That is, Plato set the tone for the course of Western philosophy, and all others subsequent to Plato only built upon the foundation he built.  The same can be said of Jack Bales, biographer of Kenneth Roberts. This website is merely a footnote to all of the work set forth in Bales’ works on Roberts.

Jack Bales, to my knowledge, is the only author who has written a biography of Kenneth Roberts.  Mr. Bales, in fact, has written two books on Kenneth Roberts and his works.  His first book is titled Kenneth Roberts: The Man and His Works (1989) and the second Kenneth Roberts (1993).  According to Mr. Bales in a recent e-mail exchange, the first work is “part biography / part annotated bibliography of commentary and criticism.”  The second work is “biography and commentary on his books” (e-mail, 14 Apr 2009).
